Disneyland's 55th Anniversary

Ceramic Disneyland Classic "Paper Cup"
Limited to 1955.         $18 each.
Available July 17 at Disneyland

This was the Park's official paper cup for coffee and soda for many, many years, and the style that I remember from my childhood.  As with all paper goods, most of the cups ended up in the trash.  Ours is an exact replica that you can keep and use forever.

Susette, You can call Disneyland's Merchandise Guest Services at 1-800-362-4533 to order merchandise directly from the park and have it sent to you. (Our items will not be available for purchase or pre-order before July 17, of course.)

Luckily for me, I have just about enough space for both of these wonderful pieces on my specially designated "Kevin & Jody shelf" - they'll fit quite nicely between the tiki mug set and the 50th fireworks lamp - just above Monorail red and just below my boxed pin sets .

How about I just hand over my wallet when I see you on the 17th and you give it back when you're through?

1- I have a sinking feeling that by the time we fly out to CA (from FL...are we committed or what?) these will all be gone, baby gone.

2- If an espresso size is ever available, I'll fly out ESPECIALLY for it.

Thank you for encouraging my behavior.

To follow up this narrative. Flew out to L.A. from Miami on business Aug. 4th. Having some downtime before client activity, headed to Disneyland. As expected, ALL cups (& popcorn bags) sold out. None to be had.

I shrug. Figures. I look casually on eBay. The prices? Astronomical.

Fast forward a month. Taking the family to WDW for the long Labor Day weekend. Our very last day. Head over to EPCOT and as we're about leave some odd little impulse drags me to The Art of Disney...practically at the exit. Enshrined in a little corner glass display, with no attention called (or paid) to it...are the ceramic popcorn bags and cups.

People, even those who seem to be serious Disney collector-y types are oblivious to it.

So I pounced. Even better, with a passholder discount of 10% (and lower sales taxes than California).

So, basically, I am pleased.

Thank you so much Kevin for posting how to contact Disney about purchasing these amazing cups. They sold out so fast that I thought I'd never get one, but I just called the number and bought 2. Thank goodness too because they are going for an arm and a leg on ebay!

The 55th anniversary celebrations promise a unique blend of nostalgia and new experiences. Guests can expect special events, exclusive merchandise, limited-time offerings, and perhaps even a reimagined look at some of the park’s classic attractions. Disneyland’s timeless appeal continues to draw visitors year after year, and this anniversary serves as a tribute to the generations of fans who have made the park a part of their lives.
