Jody and I just presented a 30-minute retrospective of some of our favorite Disney projects over the past 25 years for an audience of fans aboard the Disney Dream cruise ship in the Bahamas. It was our first sea voyage ever, and it was pretty incredible. Five nights at sea, with a day in Nassau.
Yeah, our jobs can be pretty tough sometimes. We had a blast!
Another great peek into your world.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested in seeing more about Bo Chi (is that how you spell it?). What a fascinating person he must have been.
What a fun presentation. Your big-fig hatbox ghost is "the one that got away". I was planning on ordering the day it became available but there was a layoff in my family (literally like the week prior), so had to forgoe that luxury (and they sold out pretty quick if I remember.) But I still have all the old Disney Store catalogs that had your anniversary miniatures in them. Fun to drag out and flip through.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool video! It was so neat to get another look at all of the great projects I've read about over the years I've followed your & Jody's work.
ReplyDeleteNow I have the urge to check out all of the Disneyland merchandise on ebay... my dad actually had (still has?) that Big Al stuffed bear, haha. I absolutely love the pieces you've created based on the old paper products.
Also love the photos of you as a chimney sweep, how fun!
So AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is wonderful! Thank you for posting it; I have one of your Mr. Toad big figs -- it's one of my prized possessions. I haven't been to Disneyland in almost 30 years, so I'm going in September for a farewell visit.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to grow up to be you guys when I was younger, and still have some Disneyland merchandise from the 70s. So now I have to live vicariously through you! I can't express how much I love your designs -- BOTH of you!
