I just finished several commissioned paper sculptures, this one for a wonderful couple who had visited Hawaii on their honeymoon last year. (It had never occurred to me that
paper is the traditional gift for the first anniversary! I could start another business!)
I suggested an underwater concept, which looked especially nice behind glass in its shadow box - almost like an aquarium scene.
My cutting board, photographed one night at about 2AM. I am
always up late...
Heartfelt congrats to Jen and Aaron on your anniversary! Hope the Tiki brings you fortune and happiness!
Awesome job! What a great piece. Sleeping early is for suckers.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely GORGEOUS. Oh, I love it so much:)
ReplyDeleteamazing! how do you get that paper to stay on there? glue? i've never figured it out. it seems like glue would bleed though... do tell!
ReplyDeleteman that is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you for all the well wishes Kevin and for a piece that makes us smile everyday! WE LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteYour work is pristine, original and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe whole family enjoys. Thank you. About
the 60's; better to love them from afar: research,
delve, study and glean. Jen's mom.
This is so incredibly beautiful, I am speechless. Jen and Aaron are lucky ducks to get to look at it every single day!! :)
ReplyDeletenice work once again, kevin!
ReplyDeletebtw, it is glue, isnt it? i know there a couple of different methods...
Thank you so much for the compliments all!
ReplyDeleteDonald and Matt- To answer your question. I use a super strong glue ("Tacky Glue") to hold it all together. I have to take care with it, tough, since too much glue can blister the paper from behind, or a drip will mar the surface.
Whoa! love it.
